A man is dead and a woman is hurt after a shooting in Chesterfield County. Police say the two were shot last night on Periwinkle Drive. The man died at the scene. The woman was taken to the hospital. Police say her injuries are life-threatening. No arrest has been announced, and there's no word on a motive.

The national average cost of a gallon of regular unleaded is three-dollars-and 59 cents, the same as it was yesterday and a week ago. In Virginia, the price is 3-46, which is down from 3-50 a month ago. The cheapest average gallon is in Patrick County at 3-19 and Fairfax County comes in most expensive at 3-63, according to Triple-A. Nationally, Mississippi is lowest at three-oh-three, while California has the highest at five-dollars-12-cents.
