First responders from around Virginia are paying their respects to a Smyth County deputy killed in the line of duty. The body of Deputy Hunter Reedy was escorted from the Roanoke Medical Examiner's Office yesterday. Members of several police and fire departments honored Reedy by lining the route of the procession from Roanoke to Marion. Reedy's funeral has been set for Saturday at a church in Chilhowie. Flags around the state will be lowered on Saturday to honor the fallen deputy.
Police in a Washington D.C. suburb are investigating a break-in at the campaign office of former President Trump. Surveillance video shows a man dressed in dark clothing with a dark cap and a backpack. The office is in Ashburn, Virginia, which is about 30 miles from D.C. Authorities are investigating if anything was taken.
