Some Richmond students will be dealing with changes when their school reopens next week. Cardinal Elementary School is closed until Tuesday after it was hit by lightning this week. That sparked a fire that caused damage to the roof. Water damage is impacting 16 classrooms, and classes that usually use those rooms will be held elsewhere, like the gym. Superintendent Jason Kamras says he expects the disruptions to last a couple weeks.

The high court said no to a request from the Justice Department to lift an order from an appeals court that blocked the SAVE plan.
