The National Weather Service has issued alerts for flooding and tornadoes for most of the DC area. Tornadoes reportedly touched down in Fauquier [[faw-KEER]] County last night and a tornado watch for the DMV was in effect overnight. A flood watch has also been issued for the region through this evening. Forecasters say heavy rain is likely to cause flash floods for some rivers, creeks and streams in the area.
