A man is dead after a shooting in Henrico. Police say the victim was gunned down outside of a home along the one-hundred block of South Cedar Avenue around 11:30 yesterday morning. There's no word on any arrests. The victim's name hasn't been released. Anyone with any information should call Crime Stoppers.
The DC Court of Appeals has ruled that the District can be held accountable for "substandard" homes bought through government programs. Six Black, female, low- to moderate-income homebuyers sued the city and developers after discovering serious issues like foundational cracks and mold in homes purchased through the House Purchase Assistance Program. The developers, Stanton View Development and RiverEast, went bankrupt after receiving over six-million-dollars in city funds, leaving the homeowners with unresolved repairs.
