A historic ferry that has operated on the James River for more than 150 years is reportedly shutting down.Preview: University of Virginia Provost Ian Baucom is taking a new job in Vermont. The university announced this week that Baucom has been picked to become the next president of Middlebury College. Baucom has been at UVA for 11 years and has spent the last three as provost. He plans to leave the university in March.
