Powhatan County Fire and Rescue announced yesterday that Chief Phil Warner is retiring. He has been chief for the last five years, but his career goes back over 30 years. Warner is credited with several improvements to the fleet. He's not done serving, though. Warner plans to become a volunteer firefighter. Deputy Chief Taylor Goodman will serve as interim chief.
