Richmond museum finds itself at odds with some residents. The board of zoning appeals will meet next week to discuss a request from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. The museum wants to build a 12-thousand square foot art storage warehouse on an open field near Sheppard Street. Some neighbors oppose the plans, though, because they currently use the land as a park. A museum spokesperson tells 12 On Your Side it needs the warehouse as part of its expansion plans.
Chick-Fil-A is helping a Richmond teenager pay for college. The company awarded 16-year-old Taylor Powell with a 25-thousand dollar scholarship yesterday. She works for Chick-Fil-A in White Oak Village and plans to attend UVA to study child psychology. Powell tells CBS 6 she had a brain tumor as a child, and a psychologist helped her get through that.
