A Virginia Beach woman was stopped at the Norfolk International Airport security checkpoint after TSA officers intercepted a loaded handgun in her carry-on items. 10 On Your Side reports that the gun, loaded with six bullets, was confiscated by Norfolk Airport Authority Police and the case was forwarded for possible criminal prosecution.
The Sheriff's Office says it's unclear if the folks responsible for leaving KKK flyers in Loudoun County are local. Deputies say upwards of three dozen were found Friday near Round Hill Elementary School and at nearby homes. The flyers were tucked inside clear plastic bags and weighted with small stones. Authorities say the flyers weren't directed at anyone in particular, adding that they usually pop-up in various neighborhoods around MLK Day.
