Rescue Crews continue to work as dozens of people are presumed dead in the crash involving an American Airlines jet and Army Black Hawk helicopter near Washington, DC. The crash happened last night as the regional jet was approaching Reagan National Airport. It was carrying 60 passengers and four crewmembers on the flight from Wichita, Kansas. Three soldiers were on the Black Hawk.

Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin says the area where last night's plane crash happened is a busy one, but has been safe for a long time. He noted the area sees commercial, military and federal government activity. Some lawmakers have previously expressed concern for how busy the area's airspace is. Youngkin said it's a topic that will be a significant part of the investigation into the crash. He added there's no confusion something went very wrong and they need to figure out what it was so it doesn't happen again.
