Norfolk City Council has approved plans for a new casino. The council voted seven to one last night to allow for construction to start. The 500-million-dollar casino is expected to have a 200-room hotel, 15-hundred slot machines, 50 table games, and eight bars and restaurants. It's being built on behalf of the Pamunkey Indian Tribe. Construction is expected to start next year and be completed by 2027.
A few students from a Hampton high school have been hospitalized after sharing a drug-infused vape pen. The four students from Bethel High were rushed to the hospital yesterday after having an adverse reaction to the pen. The executive principal of the school, Dr. Tanya Howard, says the four students have been identified and will be disciplined according to the school's student responsibilities handbook. Howard says the school is still investigating the incident
