More winter weather is headed to Virginia. A winter storm is moving over the state tomorrow, brining snow and a wintry mix to several areas. Snow will hit the northern and central part of the state tomorrow, with about 2 to 5 inches expected in the Richmond area and up to 8 inches in more northern areas. The far southeastern part of Virginia will have the least snow accumulations and forecasters say will likely see rain by the afternoon. The whole region will transition to a wintry mix including rain by Wednesday.
An elementary school teacher in Virginia has been arrested on sexual battery charges. Fairfax County police say 47-year-old John Barger of Springfield was arrested last week. They had received a tip that Barger had sexually assaulted a student at Fairview Elementary School. Detectives also say Barger had assaulted two other students on separate occasions. Barger had been a teacher at the school since 2017. He was placed on administrative leave and was suspended. He is currently being held without bond.
