Senator Tim Kaine has voiced his concern over the shut down of the U.S. Agency for International Development. Kaine, along with 37 other colleagues on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said they would send a letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio asking him to reconsider. In the letter, Kaine called the shut down deeply disturbing adding the mass furloughs of agency personnel is a threat to the country's national security.
A memorial to honor the 12 lives lost in the 2019 mass shooting in Virginia Beach is on time to be finished. The memorial has been in construction since December, and yesterday officials got word that it is progressing. On May 31st, 2019, a man with a gun entered a municipal building in the Princess Anne area of Virginia Beach and shot and killed 12 people. He also injured four others before police killed him. THe shooting is one of the worst deadliest workplace shootings in American history
