Fairfax County is thinking about getting rid of crossing guards at local high schools. The county says it's trying to save money and resources from it's close to 300-million-dollar budget shortfall. So, the county is thinking of hiring a private company to help with the cross walks. In total, about 16 crossing guard positions would be eliminated from 22 high schools, saving the county more than 840-thousand dollars. Final approval of the budget is scheduled for May.
