Another Virginia university has decided to end its DEI programs. James Madison University has joined the list of Virginia schools pulling away from its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs. Last week, the school board unanimous voted to approve a resolution that gets rid of the university's DEI division. The school says several JMU employees have been impacted by the decision. It includes four staff positions that will be eliminated entirely immediately.
Roanoke City Public Schools has opened a new administration building. It officially opened last Friday and is located in the former Roanoke Times building. The school system says 17-million-dollar renovation will make a generational impact. Another ribbon cutting for a new community empowerment center will happen in July.
