A popular nursing program at a local Chesapeake college is closing. All nursing and non-nursing degree programs are ending at Sentara College of Health Sciences. The college is one of the largest health systems in the southeast with 12 hospitals and more than 24-thousand employees. The college's President say all current students will be able to finish their programs either at Sentara or another partner. Sentara has more than 380 students currently in health sciences degree programs.
Republican candidate Pat Herrity has dropped out of Virginia's lieutenant governor race. Herrity released a statement yesterday saying he was dropping out due to complications from recent heart surgery. Herrity has served for more than 15 years on Fairfax County's Board of Supervisors. Herrity's exit now leaves morning radio host John Reid as the Republican nominee for lieutenant governor
