A loaded gun has been found in a carry-on at Richmond International Airport. TSA officers say they found the gun in the luggage of a Florida man yesterday at a security checkpoint. They say the gun was loaded with five bullets. Guns are prohibited from being carried onto an airplane. TSA says bringing a gun to an airport checkpoint carries a civil penalty punishable by fines of up to $15-thousand dollars.
Cicada Brood XIV (14) is emerging in Virginia very soon. Experts say the bugs will come up from the ground any day now. Virginia is one of 13 states that can expect to see this particular brood this year. It'll be another 17 years when another brood will emerge in the state. The bugs are not dangerous to humans or pets. The cicadas are expected to make their famous sounds for about five to six weeks before going away.
