Governor Youngkin has signed a bill that will regulate and add restrictions for flock cameras in the state. The new law will limit the use of data collected by the cameras and limit them to only be used for criminal investigations, stolen cars, missing person cases, and human trafficking. Time restrictions on how long data will be kept will also be enacted. Information would only be stored for 21 days. The law goes into effect July 1st.
May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month and the Department of Motor Vehicles is offering free motorcycle safety trainings. The event will be a full day of hands-on training by certified instructors to help motorcyclists improve riding technique and make safer choices while riding. Locations for the trainings will be held in Roanoke, Hampton, and Richmond on select dates throughout the summer. Registration is required and each training course is limited to 24 people.
