Farmers and agricultural businesses affected by Hurricane Helene may be eligible for disaster loans being offered by the state. Governor Youngkin announced the Agricultural Disaster Microloan Program yesterday. Eligible applicants could receive up to 50-thousand dollars to help them cover lost revenue and replace damaged equipment. Those who receive loans will have up to 36 months to repay them at an interest rate of up to two-point-five percent. More information about the program is available online.
Americans are expected to spend 11-point-six billion dollars on Halloween this October, according to a National Retail Federation survey. That includes mostly costumes, decorations and candy, with a sprinkle of money spent on greeting cards as well. That's a slight decline from last year's record 12-point-two billion.
