Police in Alexandria have arrested a wanted man after a weekend traffic stop. Officers stopped a vehicle in the 16-hundred block of King Street on Saturday afternoon and then shut down the street after a commercial-grade smoke bomb was found. A 30-year-old passenger in the car was then arrested for felony charges placed in Loudoun County. The driver was charged with driving under a suspended license.
A lawsuit filed in California is calling on Carefree the feminine care product company and its holding company Edgewell to remove PFAs from its products or add a warning label to product packaging. The suit was filed under California's Prop 65 law which requires companies to warn consumers if toxic chemicals are in products. An attorney representing the plaintiff group Ecological Alliance it a "big health problem. " PFAs are known as "forever chemicals" because they can't be naturally broken down and are linked to cancer, kidney disease, liver problems, immune disorders and birth defects.
