A 15-year-old was shot this morning near the Virginia State University campus. Chesterfield County Police were called just after midnight to the area where they found the teen had been shot. They're in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police found several vehicles had been hit by bullets as well and the investigation continues.
A family in Norfolk is looking for answers after a shipyard employee died while on the job. Rocio Rivera has details.Preview: Arlington County leaders are affirming their support for the LGBTQ community after a bar received bomb threats over the weekend. Police say Freddie's Beach Bar in Arlington received the threats ahead of a drag queen story time scheduled on Saturday. Protesters also gathered outside the bar during the event. The Arlington County Board issued a statement yesterday saying expressions of hatred and bigotry have absolutely no place in the community. The board also said it was committed to making sure Arlington remains a safe and welcoming place for the LGBTQ community.
Opening Day continues to be a big draw in Richmond. The Flying Squirrels drew a sellout crowd yesterday for their home opener at The Diamond. It was their 14th straight home opener sellout. Over 98-hundred fans showed up, but they may have left disappointed after a 2-one loss to the Akron Rubber Ducks. The two teams will play again today with first pitch at 6:35 pm. Dogs are allowed in free.
