Martinsville Police arrested a man accused of impersonating a law enforcement officer. WSET-TV reports that officers were called for a suspicious vehicle Wednesday where a witness told them they were approached by 36-year-old Dominique Grant of Collinsville who said he was a U.S. Marshal. He said he was doing surveillance in the area. Grant was eventually located by officers and it was found that he was not law enforcement. He's facing several charges and is behind bars without bond.

Students at Virginia State University may notice extra security around campus. That's in response to a shooting Wednesday morning. A 15-year-old boy was shot and is recovering. Bullet holes were found in cars, a fence and a residence hall window. No arrest have been made yet and there's no word what led to the shooting. VSU says there will be a heightened police presence to ensure the continued safety of the community.
