The Catholic Diocese of Richmond has released a statement on sexual abuse allegations involving St. John the Apostle School in Virginia Beach. The school says they recently found out about the sexual abuse allegedly committed against students by an adult at the school. That adult has died. The release says civil authorities and law enforcement are now involved. The Diocese says they are also investigating to confirm whether the Diocese's Safe Environment regulations were followed. Fr. Rob Cole, Pastor of St. John the Apostle parish has been placed on temporary leave during the investigation. The Very Reverend Esteban De Leon, VF, pastor of Star of the Sea Catholic Church, has been appointed temporary administrator of the parish.

The state is taking part in the national Click It or Ticket safety campaign through June 2nd. Triple-A says more than 38-million people are expected to be on the road this weekend, possibly setting a record for Memorial Day travel. The enhanced enforcement effort will see additional law enforcement officers patrolling the roads looking for seat belt and other safety violations.
