A Petersburg gym was in lockdown after a shooting Wednesday night. Police say it happened around 6:00p.m. when someone was shot and flown to VCU Medical Center where he's in critical condition. About 30 AAU basketball players were inside of the gym when the shooting happened and it went into lockdown. One person has been arrested in this shooting. It comes less than a day after a 17-year-old was shot and killed in Petersburg with deputy Emanuel Chambliss telling WTVR-TV that he's concerned about the rise in violence and is worried people can't solve their differences without picking up a weapon.

Henrico County Police responded to a call of a rabid raccoon at a home Wednesday. The owner of the home reported multiple companion dogs were exposed. Police say all of the dogs have valid rabies vaccines, but are being quarantined on the property. No other humans or animals are believed to have been exposed.
