The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down in Culpeper County during severe storms last weekend. The tornado was on the ground for about ten minutes in the Rixleyville area Sunday night. A ground survey of storm damage showed the EF-1 tornado had a path about 100 feet wide and nearly five miles long. Five people were injured when the tornado overturned a shed and some other property damage was reported.  
 
 
A Norfolk daycare has been accused of operating illegally after a parent reported more than the legally allowed amount of children in their care. Brianna Johnson tells WAVY Shining Lights daycare has at least eight children in their care. The owner of the daycare reports just three children are enrolled. Johnson has also filed a civil cease and desist action against the owner of the daycare for multiple bite marks found on her child while at the daycare.  
 
 
The Dollar Tree headquarters in Chesapeake is laying off dozens of employees. Rocio Rivera has details.

Small businesses in Alexandria can now apply for a grant through the Latino Economic Development Center. The grants are meant to help businesses that have trouble accessing essential resources maintain their current operations or help with expansion. Grants of up to seven-thousand dollars are available through the program. Applications will be accepted through June 18th.
