An investigation is underway after a Chesterfield County Jail inmate died. The sheriff's office says Hopewell's Stephen Martin Horne was found in his cell over the weekend with a piece of clothing around his neck. He was taken to the hospital where he passed away yesterday. Police are investigating. Horne had been in the jail since Saturday.

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors passed a new ordinance to regulate data centers built in the county. The board voted 8-to-2 after a public hearing that lasted about four hours Tuesday. Restrictions included in the plan govern the size of buildings that can be used as data centers and require a set-back of at least 200 feet from residential areas. It also requires noise impact studies before a data center is approved.
