It's another bitterly cold morning in Central Virginia. The National Weather Service has a Cold Weather Advisory in effect until 10:00 a.m. Wind chills overnight were expected to be as low as zero. The NWS expects a high today in the mid-30s and lows tonight in the teens.  
 
 
Passengers on a Greyhound bus were stranded in Roanoke for 24 hours due to a driver not showing up. The passengers contacted the police for help, and the Roanoke Police Department and Fire and EMS departments provided assistance, including food and shelter. WDBJ reports Greyhound officials apologized for the inconvenience and stated they are committed to delivering high-quality service and investigating incidents to prevent recurrence.  
 
 
Richmond Public Schools is addressing payroll issues, including taxes being over-withheld, and plans to pay staff for the week of the water crisis.

A historic ferry that has operated on the James River for more than 150 years is reportedly shutting down. The Albermarle Charlottesville Historical Society voted last week to decommission the Hatton Ferry. The Scottsville Monthly says safety concerns and problems with low water in the river may have led to the decision. The pole-operated ferry had been operating near Scottsville since the 1870s.
