Vance joined Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin in Damascus yesterday, talking with local leaders about their needs four months after flooding caused extensive damage to the area. Vance blamed the delay in federal funding on the Biden Administration and said millions in disaster relief would be arriving "as soon as physically possible." Youngkin also criticized the delay in recovery funding, saying Virginians "don't need to wait another day."
A familiar voice to some in Richmond wants to speak on behalf of all Virginians. Radio show host John Reid announced yesterday he's running for lieutenant governor as a Republican. He says Virginians spoke loud and clear in the last governor's race that they want real principled leadership, not woke social experimentation and radical agendas. Reid says he's running to help continue what Governor Youngkin started and to help elect Winsome Sears and re-elect Jason Miyares. If he gets the GOP nomination, Reid would be the first openly gay statewide candidate from any party in Virginia's history.
