A Fairfax County woman is facing up to 16 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to assaulting her son for not cleaning his room. Thirty-eight-year-old China Ashley Charles of Fort Belvoir pled guilty to multiple counts of assault as well as cruelty to children on Monday. Investigators said Charles hit her son with a chair, a dresser drawer, a hot iron and other items over four years before he was able to escape her home. She'll be sentenced in May.
