Numerous schools and government offices in Virginia will be closed today, due to inclement weather. Many of those school districts have announced traditional "snow day" closures instead of online learning for the day. Marine Corps Base Quantico will also be closed, with only mission essential staff reporting. Winter break has been extended for Culpeper County Public Schools, with students scheduled to return on Wednesday, January 8th. Drivers are urged to stay home rather than risk having a crash due to icy road conditions. Alex Liggitt with VDOT tells News4 Washington their plan.
