The only scheduled debate between the candidates for Virginia's U.S. Senate seat is set to be held tonight in Norfolk. Democratic Senator Tim Kaine will face Republican challenger Hung Cao [[ cow ]] in a debate at Norfolk State University. The debate is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. NewsNation is planning to carry the debate nationally, and it will also be broadcast on television stations in Hampton Roads, Richmond, Roanoke and Washington, D.C.
Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin wants President Biden to use his authority to end the recently-started dockworkers strike. The governor says Biden can use the provisions of the Taft-Hartley Act to end the strike for at least 80 days. Biden Administration officials have said they will not use the measure, preferring to let negotiators work toward an agreement through collective bargaining.
