Virginia lawmakers are considering measures that could change the way the state funds public schools. A General Assembly joint subcommittee considered several recommendations during a meeting yesterday in Richmond. Republicans and Democrats on the committee agree that schools need more money, though they disagree on exactly how those funds should be spent. The estimated price tag to implement all the suggested changes comes in at around one-billion dollars.
