A man accused of a mass shooting that killed three University of Virginia football players has pled guilty to multiple charges connected to the case. Christopher Darnell Jones Junior entered his guilty plea yesterday in Albermarle County. Investigators accused Jones of opening fire on a bus returning from a field trip in November 2022, killing Lavel Davis, Junior, D'Sean Perry and Devin Chandler. Jones could be sentenced to life in prison when he is sentenced in February.  
 
 
The Arlington County Board recently changed rules for police collaboration with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, sparking debate in the community.

Officials in Arlington want to put on a dream wedding for a couple that loves books. The city library's theme for the 2025 Arlington Reads series is romance, which has led to a unique contest to host a July wedding at the Central Library. The venue will have space for 50 guests, and the city will provide music, food, photos, an officiant and a wedding cake. Applications for the free wedding are due by January 24th.  
 
 
A Sitka Spruce that's traveled across the U.S. from Alaska is set to arrive in Washington, D.C. tomorrow. The 80-foot-tall tree will serve as this year's U.S. Capitol Christmas tree. The U.S. Forest Service conducted an online vote to name the tree and wound up with the name "Spruce Wayne." The tree will be lit during a ceremony on the Capitol's West Lawn on December 3rd.
