A new bipartisan constitutional amendment in Virginia aims to extend property tax exemptions to spouses of servicemembers who died in the line of duty. Currently, only spouses of servicemembers killed in action are eligible for this benefit. 10 On Your Side reports that voters will decide on this amendment on the ballot today.  
 
 
Most DC area schoolchildren are staying home today. All public schools in DC and Maryland are closed for Election Day, along with most northern Virginia school districts. Parents with children in private and religious schools should check with administrators to see if they are open. Polls will be open in DC and Maryland from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., while polling places in Virginia are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.  
 
 
Two rideshare companies are offering a discount today in hopes of raising voter turnout. Uber is offering a 50-percent discount on rides up to ten-dollars through a section of its app called "Go Vote." The discount is available throughout the day but the company says it is not available in every state. Lyft is also offering 50-percent off rides up to ten-dollars through the discount code "Vote24." The code is valid through 10 p.m. tonight.  
 
 
A Christmas classic, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, will no longer be shows on CBS. The stop motion film will be leaving its long-time home network CBS to return to NBC, which actually premiered the film 60 years ago. NBC is planning a telecast of the film on December 6th.
