A family of 14 in Roanoke is now homeless just days before Christmas after their home was destroyed in a fire. The parents and their 10 children are currently living between hotels and their van. The community is rallying together to support the family by donating clothing and essential items, while Roanoke Fire-EMS is ensuring the children have gifts for Christmas. WDBJ reports the family is in need of various clothing sizes for both children and adults, and donations can be dropped off at James Madison Middle School. The Milliner family is grateful for the support as they search for a new place to call home.

Bedford County officials are warning the public of a lost dog text scam making the rounds. Police say scammers are texting residents or lost dog owners that their neighbor found the missing dog. The scammer then claims they gave their neighbor money to help care for the dog, and won't give out information of the animal's whereabouts until the owner pays them back. Bedford County police are warning the public not to send or give money or gift cards to anyone they do not know.
