Virginia has certified the results of last month's general election. The Board of Elections voted unanimously yesterday to accept the results after they were checked for accuracy and certified by local election boards. The vote certifies a six-point victory by Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris over Republican President-elect Donald Trump. It also verified the re-election of Democratic Senator Tim Kaine and the results of Virginia's 11 congressional races.  
 
 
Many people in Virginia expect their tax dollars to be used by elected officials and government employees to help people in need, but as we see with the newest Alzheimers treatments, it doesn't always work that way.

Sue Peschin, President & CEO, Alliance for Aging Research, says a new poll shows 92 percent of respondents believe Medicare should cover the costs to give Alzheimer's patients access to innovative, FDA-approved early treatments.

Peschin says 78 percent of people believe patients should not have to participate in medical research to receive FDA-approved drugs and the same number of survey participants also say Congress should step in if Medicare does not change the rules to help Americans get the healthcare they need. Richmond Public Schools will move forward with its cell phone policy for the coming school year. The school system says they're going with a tiered approach that will include warnings before disciplinary actions. The school board voted unanimously to implement a new cell phone policy on November 11th.
