A monk is dead after setting himself on fire at a Buddhist temple in northern Virginia. Police in Prince William County were called to the temple in Lake Ridge on Thursday. A 48-year-old man was found with serious burns in a bedroom in the temple. A witness tells authorites they watched the monk set himself on fire and then walk back into the temple. The Cambodian man had been at the temple for three years. Investigators are still trying to determine why the monk set himself on fire.

The "reason" from Charley O'Brian.....Preview: Elected leaders in Virginia are paying tribute to former President Jimmy Carter following his death. Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin called Carter a devoted public servant and said his faith always inspired others. Former Democratic Governor Terry McAullife credited Carter with helping get his first political job, calling him a decent, hardworking and honorable man. Democratic U.S. Senator Mark Warner also praised Carter as a "model of service late into life." The 100-year-old former president died at his home in Georgia yesterday.
