Sturtevant is also proposing legislation to allow homebuyers to inherit a seller's mortgage rate. Sturtevant says he hopes to make it easier for Virginians to buy a home. Real estate company, Redfin, says investors purchased one out of every six homes that were bought in the U.S. in the second quarter of 2024.

A majority of employees have an eye out for a new position, and more and more workers feel detached from their jobs - that according to a new Gallup survey. It found that 51-percent of workers asked are looking out for or actively seeking a new position. Just 18-percent said they're "extremely" satisfied with their current job. Worker satisfaction is at a record low, and people are looking for new jobs at the highest rate since 2015.
