Officials in Greene County have issued an alert about a possible dam failure at Greene Mountain Lake. Yesterday's warning from the Greene County Office of Emergency Services says the dam is at a level two emergency for potential failure. A level two emergency is defined as a rapidly developing situation that could lead to significant flooding if not immediately addressed. No reason for the alert was announced. Authorities said there is no immediate risk, but everyone living downstream of the 60-acre lake should be prepared to evacuate if the situation escalates.

Some parents in Richmond are worried about how their kids are being affected by cold classrooms. Broad Rock Elementary School seems to be the focus of most complaints on social media. The school district admits it has had some heating challenges at the school. Still, officials tell 8News classes are being moved around to ensure all students are safe and warm as they learn.
