Hundreds of crashes are being reported around the state due to the latest winter storm. The state police reported over 700 crashes as of 9 p.m. yesterday. Seventy of the crashes caused some sort of injury, though no deaths were reported. Drivers are being urged to stay off the roads until conditions improve.  
 
 
The Metro system is asking commuters to check their train and bus schedules before they head out this morning. Metro switched to a moderate snow plan for buses last night, warning passengers of possible delays and detours. That changed to a severe snow plan at midnight, with only 42 of 193 bus routes operating this morning. Metrorail trains are expected to run on their normal schedule. Riders should check Metro's social media pages and website for updates.
