Two of Virginia's largest utilities say they are making progress toward restoring power following this week's winter storm. Dominion Energy announced yesterday that it hoped to have electricity restored to most customers sometime today. About 220-thousand Dominion customers were without power on Tuesday night. Appalachian Power expects all customers left in the dark on Tuesday to have electricity back later today. Customers who lost power yesterday should have it restored by Sunday.  
 
 
Hanover Officials are discussing moves to ensure water resources after recent challenges reported from the Richmond water treatment plant.

A bill that would have allowed state and local traffic enforcement on northern Virginia federal roadways was voted down in a House of Delegates committee yesterday. The bill would have allowed state and local agencies to enforce traffic laws on the George Washington Memorial Parkway. It also would have allowed local authorities to place speed cameras in areas approved by the National Park Service.  
 
 
Robert F Kennedy Jr. is the new head of the Department of Health and Human Services. Kennedy says he'll implement a "Make America Healthy Again" plan, which he said aims to refocus U.S. health priorities away from infectious diseases. Kennedy has also talked about getting rid of ultra-processed foods. He was sworn in Thursday afternoon in the Oval Office.
