Richmond has some projects coming up that'll address traffic safety concerns. The city announced last week it's working on several Lighter, Quicker, Cheaper, or LQC, projects. The goals are to improve safety, promote transportation equity, create more accessible streets and empower residents through community-driven art installations. The first project is set for Mosby Street and Mechanicsville Turnpike near Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School. The second project is set for Hermitage Road and Laburnum Ave near Linwood Holton Elementary School. The third project is set for Midlothian Turnpike from 37th Street to Richmond High School for the Arts. The city says these projects are just the beginning of a broader effort to enhance neighborhoods across Richmond.
