A former General Assembly candidate and her husband pleaded not guilty to nearly a dozen felony charges.Preview: A Virginia university has filed a federal lawsuit after allegedly having money stolen from its endowment. Averett University in Danville says its former chief financial officer worked with an investment firm to drain 20-million dollars from the fund. The lawsuit claims that 75-percent of Averett's endowment was gone by the time it noticed the problem last March. The suit says the university has suffered irreparable harm due to fraud, breach of contract and negligence.

A Virginia woman with Stage Four pancreatic cancer is getting her final wish granted. Elizabeth Miller-Davis was reunited with her horses Stormy and Princess yesterday at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville. The hospital's staff brought the woman outside so her horses could be brought to her bedside. Miller-Davis, who goes by the name Claiborne, was selected as Virginia's Nurse of the Year in 2024.
