The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office has announced the arrest of a suspect after a deadly weekend shooting in Ashburn. Nineteen-year-old Fadlalla Mohamed was arrested Sunday in Leesburg. He was allegedly involved in the shooting of a 16-year-old boy who was found dead in a grocery store parking lot on Saturday. Mohamed was charged with first-degree murder and use of a firearm in a felony. Investigators are working to determine if anyone else was involved in the shooting.
A company is dropping plans to build a power plant to service data centers in a Pittsylvania County community. An energy company named Balico says it is pulling its application to rezone 750 acres in the Chatham area. The company wanted to build a 35-hundred-megawatt power plant to serve up to 12 data centers, but is now considering other possible uses for the land. It's the second time the company has pulled its rezoning application and some critics think they may try the proposal again in the future.
