Investigators have found the remains of a man who disappeared in Appomattox County nearly three years ago. Gary Joseph Parsons was last seen riding his bike in May of 2022. A cadaver dog discovered the remains last month in the area of Richmond Highway and Mountain Cut Road. The state medical examiner's office confirmed this week that the remains belong to Parsons. Authorities say the investigation into his death is continuing.
