In a move towards transparency, Governor Youngkin says the Virginia Homeland Security Task Force has now made over 500 arrests. The task force is a partnership that combines state and federal resources to combat organized crime, gangs and illegal immigration. The governor issued an executive order in late February directing the state police and the Department of Corrections to work directly with ICE to help enforce federal immigration laws.

Health and Human Services Director Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is announcing the ban of a number of artificial food dyes in the nation's food. Eight petroleum-based synthetic dyes are on the list in a move cheered by food activists . Kennedy is due to make the announcement at a press conference this afternoon. He's previously said that he wants all artificial dyes phased out within two years.
