Spotsylvania County authorities are investigating after a gun went off in a student's backpack yesterday. Investigators say the gun discharged in a third-grade classroom at Lee Hill Elementary School. No one was hurt and investigators do not believe the student meant to do any harm. The sheriff's office is trying to determine why the student was carrying the gun and what caused it to fire.
Efforts underway to make sure Virginians have plenty of time to update their IDs before its too late with the clock ticking. Sub-freezing temperatures as low as the upper 20s are expected overnight. The NWS warns frost and freeze conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation. Highs today and tomorrow are expected to be in the mid-to-high-50s.
American cattle ranchers are lining up behind President Trump's tariffs on beef. The National Cattlemen's Beef Association says "President Trump is taking action to address numerous trade barriers that prevent consumers overseas from enjoying high-quality, wholesome American beef."
