The Department of Justice is fining a company based in northern Virginia for a job post that sought to limit applications based on race. The March 2023 post by Loudoun County-based Arthur Grand Technologies sought only U.S.-born candidates who were white. The DOJ's Civil Rights Division investigated the post and determined that Arthur Grand had discriminated against applicants based on citizenship status and national origin. As part of a settlement, the company will pay a fine as well as compensation to anyone who filed a complaint with the U.S. government.

A 911 dispatcher is being praised as a silent hero by Reverend Dr. Tyrone Jackson, Jr. He crossed paths with Kiana Mason a couple weeks ago when Jackson called 911 to report a crash. Jackson says he was distraught, but Mason was on the other end of the line and was able to reassure him. Jackson says that left an impression on him, and he decided he wanted to thank Mason. When he found out she was nine months pregnant, he got his old fraternity brothers to help. They bought baby gifts and delivered them to Mason, who says she was in complete shock. She also tells CBS 6 it means a lot to know what she does is so appreciated.
