Governor Younking is urging the state Senate to take action on a measure passed by the House of Delegates late last week. The House voted unanimously on Friday to repeal eligibility changes made to the Virginia Military Survivors and Dependents Education Program. Youngkin issued a statement supporting the repeal and demanding action from the Senate, saying he would sign the changes into law immediately. The Senate is set to return to Richmond today, though it is not clear if lawmakers intend to take up the bill passed by the House.  
 
 
The FCC is looking to make it easier for consumers to unlock their cell phones. The agency unveiled a proposal last week that addresses when customers are looking to switch providers and they have to have their current phone unlocked. The new rule would require those companies to free up devices within 60 days of activation. Currently, there is no timetable for providers to do so.  
 
 
A woman who has spent years trying to become Miss Virginia has finally won the crown. Miss Blue Ridge Carlehr [[ car-LEE-ah ]] Swanson was named Miss Virginia on Saturday night in Roanoke. Swanson spent more than ten years working for the title, starting with the Miss Virginia Opportunity program and taking part in the pageant six times. She'll receive 20-thousand dollars and the chance to represent Virginia at the Miss America pageant.
