Many Virginians planning to fly this morning will have to make other travel plans after a communication issue grounded flights across the U.S. The FAA says Delta, United and American Airlines have temporarily grounded all flights regardless of their destination, and it's unclear how long the grounding will last. Other U.S. airlines are also reporting difficulties, including with booking, check-in and other online functions, as are some international airlines.  
 
 
The U.S. Navy is keeping an eye on thousands of sailors who recently returned to their home port in Hamptons Roads.

A Goochland County judge has set a date for a recount of votes in the Bob Good-John McGuire Republican congressional primary. The judge decided yesterday that the recount will be held on July 31st. He also ordered election officials around the Fifth District to start preparing staff members for the recount next week. Congressman Good is challenging the results of last month's primary, which saw him lose to McGuire by less than 400 votes.  
 
 
A small fire broke out at a solar farm in Alton prompting a response from the Halifax County fire department. The fire, caused by wind damage, was quickly contained and extinguished by rain. Concerns about solar farm fires have been raised by residents and community groups, with calls for better equipment for fire departments to respond effectively. Carolina Solar Energy owns the facility.
